From 1996 to 1997 he wrote his thesis at Dornier Luftfahrt GmbH in Oberpfaffenhofen (Germany) on the subject: "Examination of laminate structures on rudder end boxes with regard to the generation of corrugations in the production and operation of the component" for design type Do328/328JET.
From 1997 to 2001 Oliver Schmidt worked as a Development Engineer (structure of the wing / tail unit) at Dornier Luftfahrt GmbH / Fairchild Dornier GmbH in Oberpfaffenhofen.

From 2007 to 2010 Oliver Schmidt worked successfully as a Senior Manager Projects & Engineering at RUAG Aerospace in Emmen (Switzerland).
His projects included drawing up quotations for the development of structural assembly groups such as winglets, fuselage frames, pax and cargo floor structure and door frames, pylon fairings, ailerons, spoilers, landing flaps, fixed leading edges for different customers and manufacturers of long-range, medium-range, regional and business-travel aircrafts such as Airbus, Boeing, Dassault, Bombardier, Saab, Stork Fokker.

The Bombardier CSeries is a family of narrow-body, twin-engine, medium-range jet airliners that are being developed by Canadian manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace. Models are the 110-seat CS100, and the 135-seat CS300. These were initially named C110 and C130, respectively. In certification documentation, the CSeries family is designated Bombardier BD-500, with suffix -1A10 for the CS100 and -1A11 for the CS300.
This new CSeries jet, which offers 110-seat and 135-seat versions, competes with the Boeing 737 Next Generation 737-600, 737-700, Airbus A318, Airbus A319, and Embraer 195. Bombardier claims the CSeries will burn 20% less fuel per trip than these competitors.
In November 2012, Bombardier announced that the 110-seat CS100 would take its maiden flight in June 2013 and enter service in the second quarter of 2014. The 135-seat CS300 is to follow six months later.
On 16 September 2013, the CS100 took the first flight for the model and the CSeries.

The Dassault Falcon 7X is a large-cabin, long range business jet manufactured by Dassault Aviation, the flagship offering of their business jet line. It was first presented to the public at the 2005 Paris Air Show.
The aircraft has over 200 orders to date. It has received its type certification from both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on 27 April 2007. The first 7X, MSN05, entered service on June 15, 2007; the hundredth was delivered in November 2010.
In 2001, the Falcon 7X, at approximately $35 million, was nearly $10 million cheaper than its nearest competitors in the long range, large cabin market segment, the Gulfstream G550and Bombardier Global Express. Its 2007 cost was $41 million. As of 2008, the approximate unit cost of the 7X is $50 million (which was no longer less expensive than the Global Express, at $40M).
It is the first fully fly-by-wire business jet. It is also equipped with the same avionics suite, the Honeywell Primus Epic "Enhanced Avionics System" (EASy), that was used on the Falcon 900EX and later on the Falcon 2000EX.
The Falcon 7X is notable for its extensive use of computer-aided design, the manufacturer claiming it to be the "first aircraft to be designed entirely on a virtual platform", using Dassault Systemes' CATIA and PLM products.
It is also unusual in having an S-duct central engine, and is one of only two trijets currently in production, the other being the Dassault Falcon 900. It was also the first production Falcon jet to offer winglets.
In February 5, 2010, Dassault Falcon and BMW Group DesignworksUSA were awarded the prestigious "Good Design” award for 2009 by The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design for their successful collaboration on the new Falcon 7X interior option.
